Focus Friday

“The congregation being fully assembled, now, the bell rang once more, to warn laggards and stragglers, and then a solemn hush fell upon the church which was only broken by the tittering and whispering of the choir in the gallery.  The choir always tittered and whispered all through service.  There was once a church choir that was not ill-bred, but I have forgotten where it was, now.  It was a great many years ago, and I can scarcely remember anything about it, but I think it was in some foreign country.”

Just a little fun this friday! :)

  1. Gosh, I feel convicted… heh. I’ll have to remember this when I’m singing with the choir in our traditional service. :)

  2. I had to read this through a few times. Now I get it. I pray my heart and yours will always beat with a worship for God.

  3. You just put into words a struggle Ive had for so many years! I wish I could get my church to understand this concept-it is ver disheartening to stand there and sing words that are not real-actions do not prove they are real, and dosent scripture say something about worshiping in spirit & TRUTH?! Yes, you are on the right track-do what is real, from the heart. My prayer is that those words-bow down, lift hands-could freely be expresssed in corporate worship so much more. He is worthy.
