Worship Confessional #1

well…. i’m diving into the world of worship confessionals.

this was an interesting Sunday. our pastor gave the 2nd message in our series on the letters to the 7 churches in revelation: smyrna… the series is called “Listen Up”. after the message we had communion (1st sunday each month) and then our pastor read his letter to the church stating and explaining his resignation. note: he’s leaving on GREAT terms, there were many many tears in the room…he’s headed to TEDS’ doctoral program.

we were planning on ending with the hymn “Victory in Jesus” and i never quite figured out a way to introduce that song with a lump in my throat after our pastor announced he’s leaving in a month…. praise God that one of our elders gave a blessing to our pastor and closed with a benediction. so, no “Victory in Jesus” for a closing song! whew…..
